Family Sponsorship

Family Class Sponsorship

Canada is interested in strong family reunification. The immigration policy provides adequate section on how you can bring your family to Canada. As a permanent resident, you can apply for spousal and family sponsor to sponsor your parents, grandparents, wife, husband or children. However, you will need to put few things in place before you can get an entry for them. In 2018, Canada welcomed more than two hundred and fifty thousand new permanent residents.

One of the important criteria for a sponsor is demonstration of strong financial base. It is essential for a sponsor to show a level of income that meets the demand income or low-income cut-off (LICO) of immigration for a given family size, as established by Statistics Canada. In certain circumstances the sponsor may be excluded, if the said individual is the spouse or a common-law partner. Equally, if the sponsored is the child of a Canadian permanent resident.
