Despite COVID-19 pandemic, Immigration to Canada will not CEASE. On February 14, 2022, Canada announced its 2022-2024 Immigration Levels Plan to welcome 1,329,700 immigrants. The 2022 to 2024 levels plan aims to continue welcoming immigrants to increase the population of Canada.
In 2021, Canada welcomed more than 405,000 new permanent residents, the most immigrant in Canada history. To ensure Canada has the workers it needs to fill the critical labour market gap and support strong economy. Over the coming three years, Canada will target 1,329,700 immigrants. This includes 431,645 permanent residents in 2022, 447,055 in 2023 and 451,000 in 2024.
For 2022, this incudes 241,850 Economics Class, 105,000 Family Class, 76,545 Refugees and 8,250 Humanitarian and Compassionate Cases. The 2023 plan includes 253,000 Economics Class, 109,500 Family Class, 74,055 Refugees and 10,500 Humanitarian and Compassionate Cases. The 2024 allocations include 267,750 Economics Class, 113,000 Family Class, 62,500 Refugees and 7,750 Humanitarian and Compassionate Cases
